How to Keep a Wood Pellet Mill in Top Condition

If you have purchased a pellet machine to make wood pellets it is crucial that you keep the machine in good working order. Probably more than any other wood-working machine, if you do not maintain it properly it can potentially stop working all together. The areas of focus are keeping the pellet mill well oiled and greased, as well as keeping the die unblocked and in good condition. The die holes need to be very smooth to work properly, and any build up of corrosion will quickly cause issues such as been blocked with material. The way to approach this is after every production run to prepare some bran and vegetable oil and run this through the machine a few times. This will make sure a loose oily material is left in the die, and this will enable an easy start up next time. The vegetable oil will also stop corrosion forming on the inside of the holes.
